Civil List Ordinance W. 13

1860 which is obsolete and useless. The reasons which make a Civil List desirable
in

do not exist in this
Colony. Such a list is, in so
as I can see, of
far
no use
whatever; it's existence merely
complicates the annual estimates quite unnecessarity, and, as it becomes out of date, it tendo
to create a
grievance for those

officers who find salaries fixed by law for their posts, whilst for
reason, they
some
sufficient
they do not receive
those salaries. It has often
been urged, for instance, in
